The client is a senior IT sales executive who needed a personal brand overhaul across LinkedIn as well as the establishment of a business-focused Twitter account. His LinkedIn provided very little insight into his background, experience or personality. Helping prospective clients to connect was key to the updates required. Following a structured interview I obtained additional details to allow me to re-write his profile information to emphasis his depth of knowledge in the field of IT and the benefits working with him could provide to a senior executive with an IT mandate. In addition to content writing, I also undertook a professional photo shoot to obtain appropriate professional images to use in his personal brand update.
Emphasising the client’s personality, experience and knowledge through creative copywriting together with key images from the professional photo shoot created a warm, approachable personal brand that resonated with current and potential customers.
Raylene turned my LinkedIn profile from a poorly constructed version of my CV to a professional executive profile relevant to my clients and their businesses. Together with the witty twitter bio she wrote for me it’s provided me with a sustained upswing in profile views, growth of my professional network and unsolicited positive feedback as a result of her work.

Integrating personal and business to a single brand was critical in developing and managing my own Instagram account. Initially I managed two separate accounts for private and business, however to connect with my ideal clients I wanted to share both personal and business related posts. I work with business owners in small to medium business and corporate executives right down to graduates. The process of writing for small business and individuals requires a high level of trust and respect and it’s important that I am relatable and down to earth to allow me to connect with my clients.
My integrated instagram account provides a ‘real person’ view of who I am and what I am passionate about. This allows my clients to connect with me on a personal level bringing deeper understanding and trust to the relationship and allowing me to better serve them in the development of their own brand – whether that be business or personal, or both.
My client was an executive level professional in the IT industry, looking for career development and their next opportunity. We discussed what the ideal role would be including industry, responsibilities, permanent or contract. My client was looking for a senior management role, with a team, in the food manufacturing industry.
My client needed a complete overhaul of their LinkedIn profile, an updated resume and cover letter that was clearly positioned for the roles they were targeting. I also recommended a series of blog post that would highlight the particular skills and knowledge they had attained in their career, positioning them as the ideal candidate even before the interview. A content plan was developed through my structured interview process to ensure the voice and topics were consistent with my client’s voice, experience and knowledge.
The client’s updated LinkedIn profile together with their new resume and cover letter template began working immediately, securing more interviews per job application in one week than my client had achieved in the prior two months. Within three months my client landed their ideal role as a senior executive within the food manufacturing industry.

Sitting down heavily, he plonks the coffee mug down next to the two cold, half-drunk mugs already beside the keyboard. “Right,” he says out loud to no one in particular and impatiently scratches that spot on the back of his head before leaning forward with his hands poised ominously over the keys. Is this you every time you go to update your profile, write a new blog post, or draft that winning proposal? <Read more>
